Dr Jasmin Fuhr receives the Woman is 2019 award

it was with great pleasure and honour that, on 6 April at the Verdi Theatre in Casciana Terme, Dr Jasmin Fuhr received the Woman is for Aesthetic Medicine award, assigned to her by theIdeas in Motion Association. An association of women and for women, founded in 2004 by a group of friends who got together for the pleasure of being together and to exchange 'ideas in motion' with the aim of 'rediscovering and creating added value to what everyday life often conceals'. The idea also stems from the desire to enliven the town of Casciana Terme by involving citizens of all age groups with fashion shows, book presentations, theatre shows, burraco tournaments, dinners, and the creation of themed events. In this context, Donna è (Woman is) comes to life, an award presented each year to women who have distinguished themselves in various fields, from social work to sport, from work to entertainment.

This year, nine women were awarded in an evening, hosted by Eleonora di Miele and Omar B, that saw alternating moments of entertainment and reflection. The award-winning women are women who have much to tell about their lives, women who have been able to make a name for themselves in their respective professional or voluntary activities.

This year, for the fifth edition of the award, Dr Fuhr was honoured for the Aesthetic Medicine sector, for the attention she pays to her women every day with personalised and professional aesthetic and reconstructive treatments, for an idea of beauty and a healthy and balanced life.

Together with her, eight other women were honoured for their work. Stefania Losi, paediatrician in charge of the GAIA service, received the Woman is Solidarity award. Those from Boscoborgo, a group of women who wrote a children's book whose proceeds were donated to charity to support needy families, received the Donna è Cultura award. Cinzia Giachetti, president of the Fondazione Istituto Dirigenti Italiani of Federmanager in Pisa, received the Donna è Manager award. Giulia Capocchi, from Miss Italia finalist to presenter of the RAI programme Linea Bianca, was awarded the Donna è Cinema TV e Radio prize. Donatella Gazzarrini, a young paediatrician who works in our area and gives smiles to children every day, was awarded the Donna è Medicina e Infanzia prize. Monica Pais, Italy's most famous veterinarian and founder of the non-profit organisation Effetto Palla è Donna è Amore a 4 zampe. Finally, Giulia Gentile received the Donna è Danza award and Grazia Taliani the Donna è Arte award.

The purpose of the evening was entirely charitable, the proceeds in fact going to Meyer and in particular to the paediatric gynaecology department. In short, a fine project in our area that is certainly worth knowing about and supporting.
