In cosmetic surgery, liposuction is one of the longest-established and most widely used techniques for reducing the volume of the abdomen, buttocks, thighs, arms, and more. But if once aspirated fat was eliminated, with time we started to think about re-injecting it into areas that needed volumetric increase. So today, lipofilling has become one of the most popular, most practised and most successful procedures for erasing wrinkles.
Fat has become the protagonist of this special anti-ageing and volumising beauty treatment thanks to a technique and use of this substance that has undergone a real revolution over the years. Infiltrations of fat into areas of the face and body make it possible not only to count on a volumising effect, obtaining new proportions and tone, but also to revitalise the skin, which, stimulated, will appear smoother and brighter. Without resorting to artificial fillers, without any risk of hypersensitisation or rejection, and finally by removing a little of our own fat where we have a little too much.
The fat taken from the area where there is excess is processed and used to smooth out facial furrows that become more pronounced with age, increase the volume of the lips and cheekbones. Lipofilling is also used for breast and buttock augmentation, in cases of patients who prefer not to use implants.
Among the positive aspects of lipofilling it should be noted that the injected fat not only fills gaps in facial wrinkles or on the body, but also acts by improving skin trophism, i.e. leading to a qualitative improvement of the skin around the affected area. Another positive aspect of this technique is its total safety. In fact, lipofilling is absolutely risk-free because it uses autologous fat (i.e. belonging to the same person from whom it was taken) under absolutely sterile conditions, minimising the risk of infection.
The result of lipofilling lasts as long as that of a traditional filler, but the effect is extremely more delicate and more natural. It should be remembered, however, that the treatment does not offer a long-term result and that new treatment sessions will be necessary after some time.
