With the first warm weather, the war on unwanted hair has begun again - as it does every year. Everyone has their own method and techniques, refined over the years: razor, waxing, electric epilators. All techniques have one inexorable feature in common: sooner or later, hair always reappears.
In this regard, we have good news and bad news for you. Let's start with the good news: hairs can be removed forever with pulsed light and laser. The bad news: it's too late for this season, you should have thought of this earlier! These are treatments that are best done in winter. In the meantime, however, start taking notes...
As we were saying, there are two particularly effective methods for removing unwanted hair all over the body: pulsed light and Alexandrite laser. Both of these technologies use high-intensity light energy to target the dark pigment-rich cells of the hair follicle, destroying them permanently after a few treatments. The hair has 3 growth phases: anagen, catagen and telogen; the phase in which the hair is sensitive and vulnerable is the anagen phase, i.e. the development phase. Therefore, in order to achieve the most effective treatment possible, it is necessary that this is carried out with several passes in the same area at one-month intervals.
The type and duration of the treatment can vary depending on the areas to be treated, the amount of hair, its colour and the skin phototype. Basically, here is how the treatment is carried out. The affected area must be shaved with a razor 2 to 4 days in advance so that the hairs and their darker colour than the skin can direct the light beam towards the root. The treatment creates a sensation of heat on the treated area, which is however minimised by a cooling system of the instrument. After the treatment the area may be slightly reddened. A session can last between 30 and 60 minutes depending on the extent of the area to be treated and should be carried out once a month. Approximately 7-10 sessions are required for a complete result.
As we said above in both, laser or pulsed light, sun exposure must be avoided from about a month before the treatment in order to have maximum colour difference between hair and skin. This is why we are now not in the right season. However, you have plenty of time to think about it and start booking your treatments from autumn onwards.
