Younger face with blepharoplasty

Younger face with blepharoplasty

The eyes are the most prominent and communicative element of the face and while a lively, youthful look brightens up the face, a tired look inevitably ages the whole person. In addition, the skin in the eye area is thinner and thus exposed to the aggressions of external agents and ageing factors, and loses its elasticity more easily than in other areas, thus becoming wrinkled.

All this can be remedied with blepharoplasty, a cosmetic surgery procedure that works on the upper and/or lower eyelids to eliminate wrinkles and loose skin, lift the eyes and thus rejuvenate the entire face.

This is why blepharoplasty is, among plastic surgery procedures, one of the most popular, both for women and men, particularly from the age of 35.

Who really needs blepharoplasty

Sometimes it really is simple fatigue, and it is easy to intervene with a good, healthy rest. Other times, on the other hand, cosmetic surgery is needed to lift sagging eyelids. In particular, blepharoplasty can give good results in the case of:

  • - Drooping or sagging upper eyelids
  • - Sad and weighted look in the eye area
  • - Swelling of the eyelids (both upper and lower)
  • - Tail of the eye pointing downwards.

The operation

Blepharoplasty surgery is non-invasive and generally does not require hospitalisation, apart from special situations, and is performed on an outpatient basis under local anaesthesia. The procedure can last from 45 minutes to an hour and a half. The surgeon proceeds, through incisions, to remove the excess skin present in the upper eyelid and the bags that form under the eye.

The result

The result of the operation is immediately visible and is usually definitive and permanent. The entire face will return to a fresh, rested and relaxed appearance.
